I joined Twitter in 2019 and it quickly became a vast information network for me. A meeting place of great minds, strategists, investors and traders who I could chat with daily.
This is still true today.
Despite many requests, I could never offer a market research service. Time was a scarce commodity in those days.
After decades of tireless work, in 2023-24 I exited my participation in funds I was working with. I became a free agent and it was time to begin the next chapter of my professional life – a search for balance, a yearning for change – something fresh and exciting.
One of my best friends in the business approached me and said: “Why don’t you keep writing, show it to the world, and see what happens?” So I did – and who knows, maybe the rest is history.
I wanted to be in “Wall Street” ever since I can remember.
My father was a banker – he read the newspaper stock sheets every night. No computer, just handwritten notes – everything from memory. Markets seemed interesting and challenging, he made me feel in many conversations. He’d “channel check” me for the most popular brands at school – when I asked him why, he gave me a Peter Lynch book to read (Beating the Street). It’s sitting on the bookshelf next to my desk, to this day.
I worked to be the best math student in school, studied finance, did internships anywhere I could get near a trading desk, and went on to work in “Wall Street”.
I’ve worked many different roles – Analyst, Advisor, Consultant, Portfolio Manager, Director, Partner and Trustee – each with different challenges, opportunities, and lessons.
Eventually, I found my way to downtown NYC – living next to the NYSE for over a decade – a place where I had to be. There are many wonderful stories to share from “real life” Wall Street – including hanging out regularly with the legendary Art Cashin and the ‘Friends of Fermentation’ at their usual bar near the exchange. As the site grows, I hope to share those personal stories.
In recent years I relocated to Spain – the best move I ever made. New York will always be great, but Spain is just magic. Get in touch if you’re in the area.
If I can build a high-quality resource for your investment research, and offer a unique perspective, then this project will have been worth it.
Thanks for reading – onwards and upwards, hope to see you with us!
